TGW - The Nepal Communist Party Maoists' international liaison chief, Mr. C.P.Gajurel, today disclosed that his party has recently received a letter form the government of the US.
“Our relations with the US is improving”, said Gajurel. However, Mr. Gajurel did not disclose as to what was the content of such a letter. “We are in the process of establishing close links with all the international power centers”, he added.
“The increasing foreign interest in Nepal’s peace process is only but natural, their views concerning the continuation of Seven Party Unity is too valid …such views should not be taken in a negative way", he added.
Gajurel who looked particularly critical to India however, said that frequent unwanted remarks originating from India could rather be taken as an interference.
He said that Shyam Sharan-India’s Bihari Ex-Foreign Secretary remarks that Nepal cannot declare republic without conducting the election was rather an unnecessary meddling into Nepal’s internal matters by Indian ex-bureaucrat.
We will not tolerate India’s interference into our internal matters, Gajurel emphatically added.
“We may have to look for Koirala’s alternative, if our demands for republic declaration and full proportional voting system were not accepted by the government”, he said.
Reiterating what Prachanda had said only yesterday regarding the issue of establishing close relations with the nationalist forces close to the Palace, Gajurel said “our party is of the opinion that all the nationalist forces must unite, no matter what political tilt they adhere to”, he said.
“It is now certain that King Gyanendra will have to go, but where will the nationalists go?” he questioned.
Mr. Gajurel was speaking at an interaction program organized by Reporters Club in Kathmandu.
