In the wake of recent controversial remark by Maoist chairman Prachanda regarding forging alliance with the nationalists and statements by a section of Congress leaders favoring powerless monarchy, lawmakers have pointed that these developments marked weakening unity among seven parties.
Raghuji Pant, an MP belonging to the UML, said that both these remarks had added to the confusion in the political situation. Speaking at the parliament, Sunday, Pant urged both the NC and Maoists to come clean regarding their stands.
Likewise, Navaraj Subedi of CPN (United), said that all democrats were concerned with these remarks coming from NC and Maoist side.
Former minister and Maoist leader Dev Gurung also came down heavily against the NC leaders who spoke about protecting monarchy.
He, however, defended Prachanda’s remark on alliance with nationalists saying that if the seven parties fail, alliance should be forged with nationalists to find the solution. nepalnews.com sd Dec 10 07
