TGW - The Kantipur Daily dated December,7, 07 giving a new twist to the much hyped “Maoists-Royalists Nexus” has in a write-up disclosed that the Maoists’ spokesperson, Mr. Krishna Bahadur Mahara only last Wednesday met with a minister in the erstwhile royal cabinet.

The daily further says that though the Maoists’ paraphernalia have been denying to having such meet but Mr. Prakash Koirala with whom Mr. Mahara had a tête-à-tête disclosed that this meet was the third in a series of such meets.

“As of now all the meets remained secret but this meet is my third meeting with the Maoists’ leadership which got disclosed”, Mr. Koirala added.

Prakash Koirala is none other than the first son of late B.P. Koirala and the nephew of incumbent Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. Mr. Koirala had later joined the royalist camp forwarding reasons that the institution of the monarchy was a symbol of national unity and preserver of national sovereignty.

A write-up by Ujir Magar discloses further quoting Mr. C.P. Gajurel that such meets did happen but yet to take place with the Maoists’ top-hats.

The third meeting this Wednesday took place in Shangrila Hotel says the report, between Mahara and Koirala.

This special meet has just come closer on the heels of the visit of the high level Chinese delegation led by Dr. Wang Jiarui.

All the previous meets have yielded positive results, added Koirala.

“Prachanda’s remarks that there must be relations with the nationalists-royalists are true”, Koirala confirmed without hesitation.

“The Nepal-Maoists do subscribe to our view that the nationalists and the Maoists must unite”, he continued.

“The details of the previous meets could well be asked to Dr. Shekhar Koirala as well”, Prakash Koirala said.

Dr. Shekhar is the cousin of Prakash who is currently in the Nepali Congress camp.

Reports say that Prachanda and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai had secretly met Surya Bahadur Sen Oli-the staunch royalist and a zonal commissioner during the Panchayat period at his private residence recently.
