A select group of Madhesi Journalists have left for New-Delhi yesterday, to brief the Indian establishment over the Madhesi problems in Nepal, say reports.
The visit as reported by a local daily today is financed by the Indian Embassy in Nepal.
Gopal Jha- Jay Nishant Radio Mithila, Rajesh Mishra- Chief Editor Bishwa deep Weekly, Rakesh Mihsra- Panchajanya Weekly, Sukeshwor Pathak-Bisleshan Weekly, DharmendraJha- Annapurna Post, Atul Mishra-Katipur Daily, Sita Ram Agrahari-Gorkhapatra daily and Chandra Kishor Jha- local journalist from Birjung comprise of the journalist group who has left for New Delhi.
The journalist team is to meet several high ranking Indian leaders to make them awar of the Madhesi problems in Nepal.
The selection of the journalists has been tailored in such a fashion not even a single so-called Pahade journalist are included in the visiting team.
Interestingly, the visit of this “select” group of Nepali media men has come close on the heels of the resignation tendered by a select set of Madhesi parliamentarians alleging that the ruling Pahade elites have neglected the genuine grievances of the Madhesi population living in the entire Terai what is now called Madhesh.
