TGW - The staunch supporters those who favor the continuation of a constitutional monarchy in the country within the Nepali Congress Camp held a meeting yesterday in Kathmandu.
The meeting was organized at the Ganesh Man Singh Foundation premises by the B.P Study Center.
The speakers at the program, Tara Nath Rana Bhat, Govinda Raj Joshi, Khum Bahadur Khadka, Bijaya Gacchedar and K.B.Gurung favoring the constitutional monarchial setup held that the King is still regarded as the symbol of the national unity.
They also said that the Nepali Congress Party and the Prime Minister as well have fallen in a trap laid by the Maoists.
The leftists cannot be trusted; the leaders categorically suspected the very motive of the communist parties’ in Nepal.
If the federal system of governance is accepted, the country will head for a vertical spilt, one of the leaders commented.
Ratifying the Maoists demands for an early declaration of a republic and the proportional system of voting will invite conflict of greater magnitude and dimension than the country has ever experienced in the past, K.B. Gurung said.
